My documentary photography begins with observation rather than direction. I am interested in people absorbed in their work, traditions and everyday routines — fishermen repairing nets, market vendors, travellers, families, workers and unexpected encounters along the way. I try to remain close enough to understand what is happening without changing it. The resulting photographs are not intended to make ordinary life look extraordinary, but to preserve the gestures, characters and circumstances that make a moment worth remembering.
